Let The Journey Begin → Ronnie & Carter

Carter quietly listened to Ronnie speak, only verbalizing when she paused for a moment to encourage her with a soft, “Whatever it is, you can tell me, Ron,” before hushing again to allow her to continue. As she went on, the blonde found himself in a haze of confusion, not sure whether or not she was actually pregnant, if she was suggesting the scenario, or what, exactly was going on at all. It took him a moment, but Carter soon realized what she was trying to tell him; his face lit up and his mouth stretched into a huge grin, one so wide that he swore he felt as though his jaw may simply split in half right then and there, broken from happiness. A thousand scenarios raced through his mind of a perfectly-developed, healthy young boy — yes, boy — with blonde hair, blue eyes and freckles, just like boy of his parents. It was likely that the emotions ran through his eyes as well, which were brimming with tears that he was forcefully attempting to hold back. “Really, Ronnie?” he asked, voice trembling with feeling. “You’re really pregnant? Like, with my kid? Our kid?” Carter actually began to fear that his heart may explode, with how it was throbbing in his chest, no matter how utterly joyful the pounding was.

Suddenly, he found himself on his feet, arms pulling Ronnie up alongside him and circling her waist. It was effortless and natural to lift her into the air, swinging her up to his chest and spinning them both around in a wild rotation. “Yes, yes, yes, yes!” Carter cried excitedly, placing her back onto the ground and planting a forceful kiss on her lips, his smile obvious when their mouths touched. After a moment, he leaned away and inclined his forehead to hers, their blue eyes locked. “Finally.” Chest tight, he released her, his stomach clenching a bit with fear as one of his hands flew to her stomach. “I didn’t hurt it, did I?” he demanded, voice constricted and nervous. If anyone, he would be the future father to ruin everything before it had barely started. “Please say I didn’t hurt it.” Slowly, his voice became insistent, even more worried than before. All he could think of was how perfect it would be, to have a real family with Ronnie, and how he’d been dreaming of this for months now, and it was coming true — his fantasty was finally coming true. “Wyatt Scott Wilson,” Carter murmured prior to planting his lips on her scalp lightly, eyes fuzzy, foggy and faraway with happiness. “Our son. Or daughter,” he corrected abruptly, the corners of his lips curving down in a twitchy frown, “either one would be fine.”

After she had finished her sorry excuse for trying to be cute about the whole situation, Ronnie sat in silence as she watched Carters expression go from confused to over joyed in just a matter of seconds. She knew that he would be happy with the news, it was a given on how much they talked about it and how happy they both were when they did. As a couple, the two have been both talking about a child and wanting a child for quite a while. Individually, though, Ronnie had been a lot more patient about the situation than Carter had been. Though, it was most likely due to the fact that he wasn’t the one who would end up actually giving birth to a child. Her expression changed to the same overjoyed one that he had one as soon as he had realized that she was, in fact, pregnant. “Yes, I’m pregnant. And yes with you’re kid.” She paused for a moment, holding up her hands in an almost defensive way. “I’m sorry, I mean our kid. Or our future.” She shrugged her shoulders, smirking at the male. “Whatever you would prefer to call it.”

Ronnie followed the pull of Carters arms, allowing him to pull her off the bed and into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he spun her around, laughing as he did so. “It’s okay, Carter.” She pushed his hand from her stomach before wrapping her arms around his sides. “You didn’t hurt it. It’s fine. Don’t worry as much, okay?” A smile graced her lips, her arms tightening around him slightly. She rested her head on his chest, closing her eyes. Carter had mentioned numerous times that he had wanted a boy, a boy named Wyatt Scott Wilson to be exact. Even with not looking at him, she could tell that the simple thought of not having a baby boy saddened him, but she also knew it was something that neither of them could control. “Carter, I love you,” She began, her head remaining on his chest. “But if it is a girl, and only if, we’re not naming her Wyatt. Just so you know.” She smiled before pulling her head back to look at him once more. “Guess this means were gonna have to move out soon, huh?”
